About
Origin: In an apparition of Our Lady of Pompeii in 1884, the Blessed Virgin Mary revealed the 54 Day Novena to Fortuna Agrelli, a young girl suffering from severe illness. After months of pain and failed medical treatments, Fortuna and her family began a novena of Rosaries. On March 3rd, Mary appeared, surrounded by saints and holding the Christ Child, and instructed Fortuna to make three novenas in petition and three in thanksgiving, promising that those who invoke her as Queen of the Holy Rosary would not be refused. This miracle deeply moved Pope Leo XIII, who encouraged all Christians to love and fervently pray the Rosary. The 54 Day Novena has since become a powerful devotion for those seeking special graces and favors through Mary’s intercession. Method: The 54 Day Rosary Novena consists of praying five decades of the Rosary each day for 27 days in petition, followed by 27 days in thanksgiving—regardless of whether your request has been granted. The meditations rotate: Joyful Mysteries on the first day, Sorrowful on the second, Glorious on the third, Luminous on the fourth, and so on throughout the 54 days. Each Hail Mary is a spiritual rose offered to Mary, and the novena is a journey of love and trust. Even if your specific request is not granted, know that every prayer is heard and brings you closer to Mary’s heart, showering you with special graces and blessings.
